If he chooses the latter, the Tiger-Cats should expect a period of regression. Dan Lefevour has shown potential during his brief stints behind centre in Hamilton the past year, and the team also boasts young promising arms in Jeremiah Masoli, Brain Brohm, and Stephen McGee, but none of those guys could be expected to put up Burris-like numbers – leading the league in passing the past two years – right out of the gate. If Austin is unconvinced Burris will ever be his championship quarterback, and one of the aforementioned young QBs could grow into that role, he may decide to move on from the former Most Outstanding Player. The decision could also ultimately be a numbers one. Burris will be 39-years-old next season and likely wont come cheap with the resume hes amassed in his 14 years in the league.
